PERQUIMANS COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – The United Way is helping to collect funds after an EF-1 tornado touched ripped through Perquimans County Monday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, eight people were injured and several homes were damaged as a result of the tornado, which reached wind speeds up to 110 miles per hour.
The Albemarle Area United Way is hoping to help those impacted by the tornado by establishing the Perquimans Tornado 2025 Fund.
