PELETIER, N.C. (WNCT) — A Carteret County man has been arrested and is facing 20 charges related to child porn.

Johnathan Cody McCall, 36, of Peletier, was arrested on January 11 by detectives with the
Carteret County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit. He was arrested after an undercover operation conducted by the sheriff’s office with other membership law enforcement agencies of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

A search warrant was executed on January 11 at McCall’s home. Evidence and equipment used to carry out the crimes were seized.

McCall was charged with 10 counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor (Distribution of Materials) and 10 counts of Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor (Possession of Materials). He was being held in the Carteret County Detention Center under a $350,000 secured bond.

The Craven County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations and other members of the NC ICAC Task Force assisted in the investigation.
