The Outer Banks SPCA’s annual Stand Up for Strays Gala returns on October 3, and Hatteras Island residents have several new ways to support the shelter’s largest fundraiser of the year, even if they can’t attend the event in person.

Bidding is currently open for the Gala’s online silent auction, which features a wide selection of items donated by Outer Banks and Hatteras Island businesses.

Interested donors can browse and bid on items by visiting this link. The auction closes on Friday night at 8:15 p.m., and participants do not need to be at the Gala to win bids.

Mary at Dare to Yoga will also host a children’s yoga class on Friday, October 4, at 9:30 a.m. The class is open to all ages, requires no prior experience, and operates on a donation-only basis, with all proceeds benefiting the SPCA.

The SPCA’s Gala, silent auction, and other events like the upcoming yoga class help fund critical programs, including animal adoptions, medical care, shelter improvements, and community outreach.

With many Hatteras Island businesses contributing auction items this year, organizers are encouraging local residents to participate in the auction and upcoming events to help demonstrate strong island support.
