MOYOCK, N.C. (WAVY) — A man was arrested on Monday after fentanyl and methamphetamine were found during a search in Moyock.

According to officials, members of the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and the North Carolina Bureau of Investigation conducted a search warrant in the Moyock area of the Outer Banks due to evidence of narcotics possession and distribution.

Upon arrival to the residence, fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized. As a result of the seizure, 63-year-old James Edward Hasty was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling for sale and storage of controlled substances.

Hasty is currently being held at the Currituck County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
