DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — A man was arrested on Friday in connection with sexual activities committed by someone acting as a parent or guardian.
According to officials, in October of 2024, deputies with the Dare County Sheriff’s Office received reports of 34-year-old Joshua Lane being involved in alleged criminal activity. Two warrants for his arrest were granted after deputies conducted interviews with involved parties.
Lane temporarily was held at the Hyde Correctional Institution and was charged with two counts of felony sexual activity by a substitute parent or custodian. On April 25, Lane was transferred into the custody of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.
Lane is currently being held at the Dare County Detention Center without bond.
