Man charged with felony possession of controlled substances in Dare County: Deputies

DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — A man was arrested and faces drug charges after a traffic stop Monday night on Old Manns Harbor Road, according to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.

The traffic stop occurred at around 11 p.m. and Hunter R. Basnight, 28, was arrested and charged with:

• Felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance
• Felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
• Misdemeanor driving while impaired
• Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
• Misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia

According to police, Basnight was issued a $30,000 secured bond.
