Over 170 bird species were spotted during the recent main session of the 26th annual Wings Over Water Wildlife Festival, which was held Oct. 22-27, with a number of the sightings occurring within the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge.

A second session of the 2024 Wings Over Water Wildlife Festival, called WOW Encore, will also be held weekend of December 6-8. 2024.

During this event, there are 10 birding trips planned on four different national wildlife refuges.

Because of the extreme popularity of Wings Over Water, there are very limited registration opportunities remaining.

Go to https://www.wingsoverwater.org/ to see the WOW Encore trip descriptions, and call 252-216-9464 to ask WOW questions and to be added to a waiting list for trips already full.
