The Town of Nags Head’s Fire and Rescue Department has received additional federal grant funding to replace critical firefighter safety gear.

In August 2020, the town announced that it had received a large grant awarded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program. Funding of $290,466 was awarded to Nags Head Fire and Rescue, with a grant match of $14,524 from the town.
