The Ocracoke Health Center will host its third annual Seafood Festival Benefit on Saturday, August 31, with live music, a silent and live auction, family-friendly games, and plenty of local seafood.
The event takes place at the Berkley Barn at 58 Water Plant Road in Ocracoke Village.
The fun begins at 2:00 p.m. with games and a silent auction that continues until 5:00 p.m. Food will be served from 3:00-5:00 p.m., and a live auction will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by music from the Ray McAllister Band at 7:00 p.m.
All proceeds from the Ocracoke Seafood Festival benefit the Ocracoke Health Center.
The Ocracoke Health Center is a community-owned and operated, private non-profit with 501c3 designation. In order to survive, it merged a few years ago with the Engelhard Clinic on the mainland and became a federally qualified health center. While that union allowed both centers to receive federal funding, still, it does not cover all of the health center’s expenses.
Those who can’t attend the festival and wish to help can send donations by mail to P.O. Box 543, Ocracoke, NC 27960.
