DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — After a chase and search Tuesday evening, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol captured one teen suspect, who was wanted in a weekend chase incident in Orange County involving a pair who shot at a state trooper.
According to Durham police, investigators learned that a 14-year-old and 15-year-old wanted in that case were seen in a black Infinity in the 2900 block of Chapel Hill Road on Tuesday. Officers found the car, but when they approached it, the two suspects fled in the Infinity and hit a police car.
A little while later, Durham investigators found the Infinity in the 900 block of Constitution Drive. The two teens were seen exiting the vehicle, but were not caught.
After that, troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol tried to stop the juvenile suspects, who by this time were in another vehicle. The two fled on foot, and Durham police as well as NCSHP searched for the suspects in the area of Legion Avenue and Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard.
One of the suspects was eventually caught by troopers, Durham police said, shortly after 7 p.m.
