Cape Hatteras National Seashore also advises visitors to use caution on the beach at the north end of Rodanthe and on N.C. Highway 12 through Hatteras Island.

The Cape Hatteras National Seashore has issued a news release urging travelers to avoid the north end of Ocracoke Island around the hours of the high tide on Monday evening, September 16, 2024 due to a combination of a higher-than-average high tide and high surf advisory.

“Travelers should also use caution at the north end of Ocracoke Island around high tides through the rest of this week,” stated the release.
