On September 8, 2024, deputies from the C-District successfully apprehended two suspects in connection with a series of breaking, entering, and larceny incidents reported between September 7 and 8, 2024, in Buxton and Avon, NC. The deputies worked diligently in these incidents and were able to identify two suspects involved.
On the morning of September 8, 2024, at approximately 10:45 a.m., deputies located and stopped the suspects near the 4800 block of Quidley Lane in Buxton. During the stop, deputies discovered several of the stolen items in the suspects’ vehicle.
The individuals arrested are:
- Wyatt H. Kennedy, 33/M, of Buxton, NC
- Madison P. Hershberger, 28/F, of Buxton, NC
The charges against them are as follows:
(F) Breaking and Entering, (F) Illegal Possession/Use of Food Stamps, (F) Accessory After the Fact, (M) Misdemeanor Larceny (three counts), (M) Possession of Stolen Goods/Property (three counts)
Kennedy had an additional charge of:
(M) Larceny of Motor Fuel
Both suspects were denied bond due to their current pretrial release status.
The Dare County Sheriff’s Office commends the diligent efforts of the deputies and all involved in this case, that led to the apprehension and arrest of these two individuals and property recovered for the victims.
