FRISCO, N.C. (WAVY) — A woman was arrested on Friday in connection with an assault and shots fired on Piney Ridge Road.
According to officials, around 8:46 a.m., deputies with the Dare County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 5200 block of Piney Ridge Road for reports of an assault.
An investigation revealed a male victim was assaulted by a toolbox tray, and that the suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Madison Paige Hershberger, discharged a handgun during the incident.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Deputies said Hershberger was then arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, assault and discharging a firearm within city limits.
Hershberger is currently being held under a 48-hour hold pending further court proceedings.
