The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is partnering with several local businesses to host a Community Friendsgiving on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Families and friends are invited to join in fellowship and enjoy a free four-course meal from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Dare County Youth Center at Family Recreation Park located at 602 Mustian Street in Kill Devil Hills.

“In the spirit of gratitude and giving thanks, the goal of this event is to provide a warm and delicious meal for up to 2,000 people,” said DHHS Director Dr. Sheila Davies. “Times are challenging and this will be a great afternoon of food and fellowship.”

To-go containers will be available so that meals can be picked up and delivered to someone who isn’t able to attend, such as the elderly and homebound community members. This kid-friendly community dinner is open to all and guests can feel free to drop in anytime.

“This event would not be possible without the help of our generous sponsors,” continued Davies. “We are grateful for the support from The Roadside Bar & Grill, Metro Rentals, Sysco Outer Banks, Outer Banks Women’s Club, and Roanoke Island Women’s Club”.
