Dare County, in partnership with Current TV, has released the latest installment in the Professor Faucet video series. This new episode, “Winter Tips to Protect Your Pipes,” provides important information about how to prevent pipes from freezing during cold winter weather—and how to safely and effectively thaw them if freezing does occur.
The video—in which Professor Faucet faces off against another nemesis, Captain Freeze—is part of the ongoing Professor Faucet educational campaign developed by the Dare County Water Department to promote water system awareness, conservation and best practices for maintaining plumbing systems. Each month at DareNC.gov/Faucet (under the “Professor Faucet in Action” tab) and within various local news publications and platforms covering Dare County, Professor Faucet asks a water-related question for inquiring minds to answer. Dare County water customers will then have a two-week period to submit their responses to the Dare County Water Department for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind Dare County Professor Faucet t-shirt.
