Dare County Schools, in partnership with Dare County Emergency Management and the Dare County Sheriff’s Department, conducted a routine emergency response drill at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025. The exercise tested the use of the RAVE Emergency Panic Button app, a mobile safety tool designed to enhance emergency response in schools.
The drill took place at the Dare County 911 Call Center, where district personnel, county emergency management teams, and local law enforcement agencies worked side-by-side to observe the app in action and strengthen emergency response procedures.
Dare County Schools extends sincere thanks to Dare County’s Emergency Management Director Drew Pearson, Sheriff Doug Doughtie, the emergency management team and Dare County Sheriff’s department for their expertise, dedication, and collaboration.
These ongoing partnerships ensure Dare County Schools is prepared to respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency and to enhance the safety and well-being of every student and staff member in our care.
