Dare County Board of Commissioners Chairman Robert L. Woodard praised the county’s tax collection staff for “the incredible work you do. The percentages are off the chart.”
Becky Huff, the county’s tax collector, delivered the annual settlement at the Aug. 4, 2025 board meeting.
“The total county real estate and personal property levy for 2024 was $68,359,268.77. This total includes all real estate, mobile homes, boats, rental personal property and business personal property. It also includes properties in bankruptcy, properties with unknown owners, and properties in conflict regarding ownership.
