Hatteras Island Meals will host a fundraising event on Nov. 28 at the Hatteras Village Civic Center featuring the Songs From The Road Band.
The Asheville, North Carolina–based bluegrass supergroup includes Mark Schimick (mandolin), Charles Humphrey III (bass), Sam Wharton (guitar), James Schlender (fiddle), and Gabe Epstein (banjo). The band is known for its virtuosic picking, tight harmonies, and Grammy Award–winning songwriting. Several of their recent singles have topped the Bluegrass Today Grassicana chart, and they have six studio albums available on major music platforms.
Tickets are $35 and include a buffet dinner and a four-hour performance, beginning at 6 p.m. with local talent and followed by Songs From The Road Band from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are available at Tavern on 12, on the Hatteras Island Meals Facebook page, or at hatterasislandmeals.org. A limited number will also be sold at the door.
All proceeds benefit Hatteras Island Meals, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The locally funded, all-volunteer group provides more than 11,000 meals each year to Hatteras Island residents from Rodanthe to Hatteras Village. Additional information is available on the Hatteras Island Meals’ Facebook page or at hatterasislandmeals.org.
