The Hatteras–Ocracoke vehicular ferry route will transition to its fall schedule on Tuesday, November 4, marking the end of the peak-season summer runs and the start of reduced daily crossings through the end of the year.

The fall schedule, which runs from Nov. 4 through Dec. 31, includes 18 crossings each way, beginning at 5:00 a.m. from Hatteras and 4:30 a.m. from Ocracoke.

The change reflects the typical shift in seasonal traffic as the Outer Banks moves into its quieter months, and ferry officials encourage travelers to allow extra time for their trips and arrive early during busy periods and holiday weekends.
