After an 11-month closure, the Outer Banks History Center held a grand re-opening Tuesday, September 30, celebrating its commitment to share the rich history of eastern North Carolina.
The facility, located at Roanoke Island Festival Park, received its first remodel since opening in 1989. The reading room was refreshed with new carpet, paint, lighting, ceiling tiles and insulation. A picture rail was built to display artwork, and the Friends of the Outer Banks History Center contributed funds to reupholster the chairs in the reading room.
