Night driving restrictions will be lifted at the majority of designated ORV ramps starting at 9 p.m. Monday, September 15. Due to a low-pressure weather system, drivers should use caution on the beach over the next couple of days.

To find out which ramps will no longer have night driving restrictions, and which ramps will still have opening and closing times due to sea turtle nests, visit http://go.nps.gov/beachaccess. After sea turtle nests hatch, additional ramps will open for night driving.

Night driving restrictions may need to be reimplemented at various ramps, depending on if additional sea turtle nests are laid, so take a look at the Cape Hatteras beach access webpage before heading to the beach each night.

FYI: The seasonal portion of the ORV route located south of Ramp 4 has reopened. Seasonal routes in front of the villages will reopen October 15.
