JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A 14-year-old juvenile has been taken into custody for charges related to a shooting at the Jacksonville Mall on August 2.
According to a press release, the suspect, who was wearing a black ski mask, approached three victims in the parking lot and opened fire on them before fleeing the area.
The suspect’s identity is still unknown to the public at this time due to his age.
The arrest was made possible by support from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina. The suspect must go through an extradition process before being transferred to North Carolina.
Two juvenile victims were found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, and all three victims are currently in stable condition.
