At its December 7, 2021, Town Council meeting, town staff was directed to solicit applications to fill the recent vacancy on the Southern Shores Town Council. This vacancy was created by the election of Council Member Morey to Mayor at the November 2, 2021 municipal election. This appointment will fulfill the remaining two years of a four year term. The Town Council has not set a date for filling the vacancy. All applications submitted as of December 30, 2021 will be presented to the Council for discussion at their January 4, 2022 regular meeting. Applications submitted after December 30, 2021 will be submitted to the Town Council as they are received and until an appointment is made.
